the super blunt adventures of my 1st pregnancy |
I am by no means a hippie, or a feminist, or a ‘natural’ crunchy mother-to-be. But there are a few things I am very strongly opinionated about when it comes to how things are going to be. I am going to breast-feed my children. They are not going to sleep in my bed. I am going to stay at home to take care of them. I’ll probably wear a sling to carry my child around as well.
However, sometimes I find a decent article here or there that actually make good cases for their beliefs or doctrine for parenting/mothering issues.
Typically how it goes is I read an article and agree with all but one point, and then I toss the entire article just because that one point is really stupid & sensational.
I’ve only read two posts from www.thealphaparent.com and I agree with them completely. They are fairly brunt and too the point on issues and I agree with their stance on Breastfeeding. That being said, just reading this website will make you be all like, “I am woman - hear me roar” which beats me down, but it is fairly empowering reading a well-argued point that uses logic, and facts, and research to back their opinions.
Here is the article on pro-nursing that was pretty awesome:

{This all being said, I understand that some women cannot breastfeed, and I am in no way judging them. I am just saying that if you can, you probably should.}
